We are delighted to be collaborating with the fabric designers at Alexander Maverick - they will very kindly be gifting fabric to all students who attend this workshop!! How exciting! The day will also be captured to created content for myself and also Alexander Maverick on social media.

This workshop is a hands-on session where we will provide you with 2 metres of fabric and we teach you how to upholster a deep buttoned footstool from scratch using various materials and techniques. The workshop aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills which are transferable to other areas of upholstery and needed to design and finish a functional stool.

Workshop Outline:

Introduction to the Day: Discussion and explanation around how we’re going to upholster the stool
Safety Guidelines: Important safety precautions while working with tools and materials
Materials and Tools:
- Introduction to the materials used (e.g., wood, webbing, hessian, fabric)
- Overview of the necessary tools and equipment
Design and Planning:
- Discussing different design options
- Measuring and planning the fabric cuts required for stool
Hands-on Practice:
- It’s over to you with help from us
- Guidance and support from team TUL throughout the process
Finalising the Stool:
- Assembling and finishing the stool
- Evaluating the final product and making any necessary adjustments

Workshop sizes: We’re keeping the workshops small with a maximum of 8 people. Upholstering a deep buttoned footstool is quite a lot to get through in one day, so we want to be on hand to assist and bring maximum enjoyment to the day.

The size of the footstool frame is 30” x 40”.

We look forward to welcoming you to a creative day and we promise, we will not let you leave the shop until your footstool has passed the TUL quality check – you’ll be walking away with a piece of furniture to be proud of, and hopefully the bug to get creative!!

Cancellation by Participants:

Participants must provide written notice of cancellation via email or through the registration platform.
Cancellations received 14 days or more before the workshop date will receive a full refund.
Cancellations received after this period will be subject to 100% of the cancellation fee, unless The Upholstery Lady can fill the space, in which case a full refund will be issued.

Refund Process:

Refunds will be issued using the same method as the original payment.
Allow 48 hours for the refund to be processed.

Substitution:

Participants may substitute another person in their place at no additional cost. Notify us in writing of any substitutions.

Workshop Rescheduling:

The Upholstery Lady reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, low enrolment, or other reasons.
Participants will be notified as soon as possible, and alternative arrangements or a full refund will be offered.

Minimum Enrolment Requirement:

Some workshops may have a minimum enrolment requirement. If the minimum is not met, The Upholstery Lady reserves the right to cancel the workshop, and participants will receive a full refund.

Participant No-Show:

Participants who do not attend the workshop without prior notice will not be eligible for a refund.

Force Majeure:

The Upholstery Lady is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a workshop being cancelled, rescheduled, or altered due to reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or government regulations.

Custom Workshops or Private Events:

Custom workshops or private events may have different cancellation policies as outlined in the specific agreement between The Upholstery Lady and the client.

Changes to the Cancellation Policy:

The Upholstery Lady reserves the right to modify this cancellation policy. Any changes will be communicated to participants in advance.
